Spring Outage Conveyance & Operations Work Summary

Conveyance System Improvements:

• Repaired 52 feet of severely degraded ¾ Mile Flume and replaced three failed box sills, with assistance from Cal Fire crews.
• Repaired a 16-foot inlet box at Utica Flume 15 due to significant rot and leakage.
• Vegetation was cleared along the Utica Canal near ¾ Mile and Flume 10 by Cal Fire crews.
• Drained and cleaned Angels Forebay for annual maintenance to prevent vegetation growth and ensure summer reliability.

Operations & Mechanical Upgrades:

• Significant hydraulic system upgrades, to Angels Powerhouse,  were completed, including:
  • Replacement of leaking needle shaft seal and worn valve key.
  • Installation of a new hydraulic pressure unit, accumulator, manifold, and control switches.
  • Electrical upgrades including AC line and DC control wire replacements.
  • Fabrication and installation of new ram components for enhanced performance.
