Follow the Water

A shadowy figure with animal-like features stands beside an illuminated question mark against a dark, smoky background.

CALAVERAS COUNTY: YOU ARE SITTING ON A LEGEND.
Not buried gold. Something better. Something that never ran out.
174 years ago, in a mining camp called Murphys, rivals who
fought over everything shook hands over one thing and then did something
audacious: they carved a river's road into the side of the Sierra Nevada. By
hand. And they set something flowing that has never stopped.
It outlasted the gold. It outlasted the mines. It outlasted the company that
built it and the giant that bought it. And in 1995, this county did the boldest
thing of all — IT TOOK ITS LEGEND BACK.
That legend is flowing through your town right now. It filled your
coffee pot this morning. It flowed from your shower head this morning. It's
holding the line for your firefighters, greening the pastures, growing the
grapes, and singing through Murphys Park — and almost nobody knows the whole
story.
That ends soon! Coming September 7th!
Because something has been circling this county. High up. Watching the
water. Watching the crews. Watching you. It has followed every mile of
the legend — from the deep snow where it's born to the faucet where it ends —
and it is coming down to tell you everything.
Sixteen chapters. Sixteen weeks. All true. All yours.
The lakes that hold the spring. A wooden road hung in the sky. A promise
older than the State of California's own water board. A trout with a legal
guarantee. Two headlights on a mountain road at 2 a.m. in a snowstorm. And a
machine that has been turning water into light since before most of America had
a light switch.
You live inside one of the great untold stories of the American West.
It's time you heard it — from the only one who's seen it all.
🦅 September 7. An eagle lands. The story
begins.

Hit FOLLOW now — because when he lands, you'll want to be
