Kyle Rasmussen 10-Year Anniversary at Utica

Many of you may know Kyle Rasmussen as an Olympic athlete representing the United States in downhill skiing and a World Cup champion. Others may know him as a seasoned rancher who raises grass-fed beef on irrigated pastures. Still others may know him as a husband and father who brought up his two kids in Calaveras. But here at Utica Water and Power Authority, we know Kyle as a leader, project manager, and skilled craftsman who keeps our water supply system in excellent working order and helps ensure nearly 10,000 people have a safe, reliable water supply. We’re pleased to announce Kyle is celebrating his 10-year anniversary as Utica’s Water Conveyance Supervisor. During his tenure, Kyle has planned and managed the replacement of 4,000 feet of wooden flumes (50% of Utica’s system!), 3,200 feet of concrete overlay on canals, and implemented a top-notch dam safety program. He’s the type of guy who watches the weather like a hawk during storms and jumps out of bed at all hours of the night to open waste gates, close cross gates, and remove fallen trees from our flumes, canals, and reservoirs. He has worked tirelessly to maintain and improve Utica’s water supply infrastructure and has exemplified professionalism and dedication in his role. He is respected by colleagues and local contractors alike for his leadership and work ethic. We are so fortunate to have Kyle on our team and we hope he stays with us for 10 more years!
